When we first saw the illustrations, it gave us a bit of a nostalgic feeling. Like those small notebooks you received as a child, which you then found too beautiful to fill with writing. You looked at the cover and kept discovering something new.
Petit Gramme still does that, but in its own French way.
The illustrations are dreamy, detailed, and full of warm colors. You see landscapes, animals, flowers, and abstract shapes interwoven. At first glance, you might think: oh, what a beautiful landscape. But look a little longer, and you might find yourself thinking the next day: wow, I see an entire ecosystem among these trees.
And that's exactly what we love about Petit Gramme.
What is Petit Gramme?
Petit Gramme is a French stationery brand with a design studio in Paris. The illustrations are the heart of the brand and are created by co-founder Marlène Janin.
And it shows. The notebooks don't feel like a nice picture was just added to the cover afterwards. The illustration is actually the starting point.
Petit Gramme makes cards, notebooks, and other paper products with small, imaginative worlds where reality and imagination intertwine. Animals appear among trees, flowers become part of a landscape, and abstract shapes sometimes give an illustration a subtle strangeness.
In a good way strange, fortunately.
The drawings are combined with soft watercolor tones and natural, warm colors. This makes the illustrations striking without being gaudy.
You keep discovering something new
Perhaps that's what we like most about Petit Gramme.
An illustration can seem very simple at first glance. A landscape, some trees, maybe a few animals. But when you look a little closer, all sorts of things start to happen.
Somewhere among the trees, an animal suddenly appears that you hadn't noticed before. A flower turns out to be part of a larger pattern. And before you know it, you're no longer looking at a notebook, but trying to understand what exactly is going on in that small world.
This gives the illustrations a narrative quality. They give you enough to look at, but also leave room for your own imagination.
We believe this fits very well with a notebook. Because what you ultimately write, draw, or store in it is, of course, your own story.

The nice thing is that the paper in the A5 and A6 notebooks is the same. Your choice mainly revolves around the size and how you want to use the notebook.

A5 if you'd like a bit more space to write.
And of course, you can also just choose based on the illustration. That's at least as good a reason.

In addition to A5 and A6, Petit Gramme also has larger notebooks in its collection. An example is the Luxuriance notebook of 16 × 24 cm.
That gives you a bit more room to write extensively or use your notebook in a different way.
And here too: the illustration remains a big part of the appeal. It's a notebook you can write in, but also one you'll simply enjoy having on your desk.
